About this transfer
A private taxi for your group from your Gangtok hotel to Bagdogra Airport (IXB), at one fixed fare for the whole car. Gangtok to Bagdogra Airport is 125 km, about 5 hours by road. Bagdogra is the main airport for Sikkim, so this is the drive most travellers make on their last day. Leave Gangtok at least 8 hours before your flight. The road down is the Teesta valley highway, the main route in and out of Sikkim, and landslides, rain or holiday traffic can slow it badly; 8 hours leaves room for a slow day and for check-in. From Gangtok the road drops through Singtam to the river, leaves Sikkim at Rangpo and follows the Teesta through its gorge until the hills end at Sevoke. From there it is a flat run past Siliguri to the airport. Stop for tea or lunch if your timing allows. Catching a train instead? Gangtok to NJP Station takes the same road to New Jalpaiguri.
