What happens if a booking is cancelled — by you, by the operator, or by us.
Day Trio is a marketplace. Every day out is run by an independent operator, and each operator sets the cancellation policy for their day. That policy — for example, a full refund of the day price up to 24 hours before — is shown on the day's page and again at checkout, before you pay. When you book, you agree to that day's policy.
If you cancel within the window the operator's policy allows, the day price is refunded according to that policy. Some policies allow a full refund up to a cut-off, some a partial refund, and some are non-refundable — the exact terms are the ones shown when you booked.
The Day Trio service fee is not refunded when you cancel. It covers the cost of running the platform and the booking, which has already been done. This is stated at checkout before you pay.
If a day is cancelled by the operator or by Day Trio — for weather, under-booking, or any reason on our side — you receive a full refund, including the service fee. Where we can, we'll offer an alternative date or a similar day first, but the choice is yours.
Day Trio collects payment on the operator's behalf, so we process the refund. Approved refunds go back to your original payment method. They are typically completed within 5–7 business days, though your bank or card provider may take a little longer to show it. The amount is confirmed in your cancellation email — there is no second email when it lands, so check your statement rather than your inbox.
If something isn't right, or a refund hasn't arrived in the expected time, email support@daytrio.com with your booking reference and we'll sort it out.
