About this transfer

Gangtok to NJP is 119 km, about 5 hours by road; Siliguri town is 114 km. NJP is the main railway station for Sikkim and the Darjeeling hills. Leave Gangtok at least 8 hours before your train. The Teesta road is the main way out of Sikkim, and rain or holiday traffic can slow it badly. The road runs down through Singtam and out of Sikkim at Rangpo, follows the Teesta gorge to Sevoke and its Coronation Bridge, then crosses Siliguri to the station. Stop for tea or lunch wherever suits you. Flying out instead? Gangtok to Bagdogra Airport takes the same road.
